Hair detox made easy (at home!)

Throughout the day, our hair is exposed to pollution, the sun's rays and deals with a build-up of hair products. These factors can cause our hair to become dull, weak and greasy!

To resolve this situation, a hair detox is the perfect solution:

what is hair detox? it's basically a procedure that removes impurities from the scalp, restores strength and recovers hair. It also unclogs the hair follicles, improves oxygenation of the scalp, accelerates hair growth and facilitates the absorption of nutrients, leaving hair healthier and shinier!

So let's do it!

Step 1: Choose the right product

Opt for a clarifying shampoo or one specifically for hair detox. Make sure it doesn't contain sulphates, parabens or silicones.

Step 2: Wash your hair with lukewarm water

Wet your hair thoroughly with lukewarm water to open the cuticles and prepare it for deep cleansing.

Step 3: Apply Detox Shampoo

Apply the detox shampoo to the scalp and massage gently with your fingertips in a circular motion. This helps to remove impurities and product residues.

Step 4: Rinse thoroughly

Make sure you rinse your hair thoroughly to remove all the shampoo and accumulated residue.

Step 5: Moisturise Deeply

After the detox, your hair may need a boost of moisture. Use a nourishing hair mask and leave it on for the recommended time.

Step 6: Finish with Conditioner (optional)

If you feel the need, apply a light conditioner only to the ends to seal the cuticles and provide extra softness.

Step 7: Avoid Excess Products

After the hair detox, avoid excessive use of products and let your hair breathe. Opt for lighter, more natural alternatives.

Step 8: Repeat regularly

To keep your hair healthy and free of impurities, repeat the hair detox every fortnight or as needed, depending on your hair type and lifestyle.

Who can do the hair detox and how often?

Hair detox is suitable for all hair types! However, people who are prone to dermatitis or diseases that cause thinning skin should avoid the procedure.

The frequency of the procedure depends on the condition of your hair. In other words, you need to see if your hair is dry, chemically damaged or oily to understand how regularly you should detox!
